The Caterpillar drawing unit is a double-chain tract design drawing unit. There are quick-change grippers mounted on the chain tracks, the machine draws the tube out through the die by the friction force between the grippers and the tube, without the reciprocating movements, the machines can run over than 300 m/min which is 2 to 3 times faster than a two-carriage drawing machine.The machine is automatically controlled and requires limited maintenance.
